ManilaDarlings.com helps men from all over the world meet Filipino women for online friendship, dating and long-term relationships. Whilst it doesn't have too many bells and whistles, ManilaDarlings.com does the basics well, and is guaranteed to be 'absolutely scam free' because of the strict screening process of members. That said, there's not much of an online buzz and the site suffers from a lack of members, with implications for your chances of finding a date.

The great news is that it's free to join ManilaDarlings.com and create your own dating profile. The longer you spend on your profile the better, because it helps your profile to stand out. You might be surprised to be asked for your phone number when registering, but it's not mandatory and you can leave this section blank. If you sign up you can always fill in the basics and come back and flesh out your profile later once you've had the chance to take a look around. At the time of this review there were less than 100 members online, out of a membership base of 82,471 profiles. As indicated by the name of the site, the majority of women on the site are in the district of Luzon, of which Manila is the largest city. Members are typically single females in their twenties and early thirties, though you'll also find older members too. The site's pretty hot on preventing scams, such as members asking other members for money. Preventing scams on any dating site must be difficult, but ManilaDarlings.com promises a 'scam-free guarantee'. It therefore looks like your wellbeing is taken seriously. The downside is that profile updating can take some time as all changes are monitored.

Profiles feature a reasonable amount of detail. With the exception of the main profile picture, photos are sometimes a little small and grainy, though most members upload multiple pictures of themselves. You won't find as much detail on a member's profile page as on some other sites in this category, but you'll see when a member last logged in to the site and how long they've been a member, enabling you to judge whether a profile is still active or not.  From a member's profile page you can contact that member by sending a 'smile' (an automated message to break the ice), email, inviting that member to chat online using the instant messenger feature or your webcam (providing that member is online) or add them to your favorites list. Each profile is also given a star rating; the most active members with the most complete profiles and plenty of good quality photos will be awarded more stars.

Search options are limited to a quick search with basic criteria (see above), though this can still be invaluable in cutting down on browsing time. However, if you're quite specific about the kind of person you might want to meet, the lack of an advanced search tool should be borne in mind before you join. If you do decide to hang around here, you might also consider upgrading your membership to get some enhanced features, including sending and receiving unlimited email messages, access to webcam chat rooms, full profile access and priority listing on the site. However, given the relative lack of members on ManilaDarlings.com you really should check out some of the other sites in this category before you upgrade. You might expect to pay a lower per month fee for a 12 month membership than for 3 months, however, the reverse is true for ManilaDarlings.com as you automatically become a First Class member if you sign up for 12 months. This gets you premium listing and offers such as membership of additional dating sites.

ManilaDarlings.com might be lacking members but it's worth checking out because it does the basics well and is a friendly site with lots of help and guidance and the option of upgrading with discounted prices too.
